Our Harborites would recommend us as a great place to work.
At Harbor, we do right by data. And that takes people who do right by the work.
At Harbor, we trust our people to take ownership, solve problems and make an impact from day one. We're a specialist business with ambitious plans, and the work we do matters. Our customers rely on us when resilience, recovery and trust are on the line, so we hold ourselves to high standards in everything we do.
This is a place for self-starters. People who care about doing the job properly, who take responsibility, who keep learning, and who run towards the challenge when it matters most.
In return, Harborites are backed by a supportive team, accessible leaders, clear expectations and the flexibility to do their best work. We work hard, support each other and grow together.
Building Harbor with purpose
Harbor was built on experience, resilience, and a strong sense of responsibility.
After many years in the data protection space, James founded Harbor with a clear view of what he wanted the business to stand for: expertise people could trust, a culture built on loyalty and integrity, and a team that would always do the right thing when it mattered most.
The name Harbor reflects that thinking. It speaks to protection, not only of customers and their data, but of the people and relationships that make the business what it is.
We built Harbor to be a business people could rely on, one that protects customers properly, backs its people, and does the right thing when it matters.
That mindset still shapes the business today. James remains closely connected to customers, partners and the day-to-day reality of the market, believing the best leaders stay close to the front line and never lose sight of the people they serve.
At the heart of his story is a belief in building something lasting: a business with high standards, strong values, and a team that works hard for each other as well as for customers.
We are not interested in being loud for the sake of it. We want to be known for being trusted, capable and good to work with.
For James, Harbor's growth is important, but what matters most is how it grows: with integrity, with purpose, and with the kind of culture people want to be part of.
What it takes to thrive here
Harbor is a supportive place to work, but it is not a place to coast.

Rebecca Nixon
Sales Manager
Growing with the business
Rebecca joined Harbor nearly seven years ago in a partner-focused role. Since then, she has grown with the business, expanding into channel leadership before stepping into her current role as Sales Manager.
Her journey reflects how careers evolve at Harbor. As the business has grown, so have the opportunities to step up, take ownership, and make an impact.
"At Harbor, you're trusted to get on with things. You're not confined to one role - you get involved across the business and help solve problems where they matter."
Today, Rebecca leads a team of account managers, supporting them to build pipeline, progress opportunities, and deliver against targets. But her role goes beyond sales leadership. She continues to work closely with other teams across the business, from operations to marketing, helping shape how Harbor evolves and delivers for customers.
"No two days are the same. One day I'm coaching the team, the next I'm helping shape a new service or working through a customer challenge. That variety is what makes it interesting."
What stands out most to Rebecca is the culture.
"There's a real sense of people stepping up and getting things done. Everyone pulls together, and you're trusted to make a difference."
For Rebecca, Harbor is a place where you can build your career, broaden your experience, and be part of a team that genuinely works together to move the business forward.
Poppy Bare
Channel Sales Manager
Balancing career and motherhood
For Poppy, working at Harbor is about more than just building a career. It is about being able to do both the things that matter most to her.
Returning to work full time when her son Jude was just eight months old was not easy. Like many working parents, the early days were a mix of childcare challenges, constant illness, and the emotional pull of balancing work and family.
"It wasn't easy. There were days it felt like everything was a stretch, work, home, and everything in between."
Over time, that balance has become more manageable. With the support of her family and a role that offers flexibility, Poppy has found a rhythm that works for her.
Today, she plays a key role in Harbor's channel team, working closely with partners and helping to drive growth across the business, something she genuinely enjoys and takes pride in.
"I love my job. I love the impact I can make, the people I work with, and the flexibility that allows me to make it all work."
For Poppy, the most important thing is that she doesn't have to choose.
"You can love your career and love being a mum. Both things can exist at the same time."
That balance, and the support behind it, is what makes Harbor a place where people can build careers that fit around real life.
Zena Najdawi
Senior Project Manager
From social work to cyber resilience
Zena didn't start her career in tech. In fact, she began in one of the most emotionally demanding sectors - social work. "I wanted to help people," she says. And for years, she did. But the realities of the role, especially during COVID, left a lasting impact. "You go to bed thinking about it. It took its toll."
It was a bold leap from frontline support to IT project management - but one that's brought her fresh energy and purpose. "I've always been fascinated by technology and how quickly the world is changing. I was looking for a fresh challenge with a different kind of focus."
Now a Senior Project Manager at Harbor, Zena thrives on the variety. "I love cross-team working - collaborating with sales, tech, and support. No two days are the same."
She's the steady hand behind the scenes, helping clients implement data protection and recovery solutions and guiding complex projects to completion. "It's about making sure everything's on track, and everyone's reassured."
"There's this Harbor spirit - we work hard, we laugh, and we genuinely care about each other. That's rare."
When asked what keeps her grounded, she smiles. "Walks. No phone, no music - just ten minutes in the park. You can't deliver your best if you're running on empty."
From translating between teams to tackling tough escalations, Zena's role may be behind the scenes, but her impact is clear. And her advice to others?
"Don't be overwhelmed. You'll grow into the role. And remember - take a breath. The work will get done."
Tabbusam Hussain
Service Desk Manager
Fixing things, supporting people
When you picture a support desk, you might imagine long queues of tickets, blinking dashboards, or late-night calls. But for Harbor's Service Desk Manager, Tabbusam Hussain, it's about something far more human: making a difference.
From a tech background with roles at General Motors and CCOMM IT, he joined Harbor in 2021, building out the Level 1 support team. Fast-forward to today, he's managing a growing global desk, coordinating teams across the UK, US and Bulgaria.
"I enjoy fixing things," he says, "but more than that, I enjoy helping people." It's that blend of empathy and technical know-how that defines his leadership.
"The little things matter. Even when you don't have a fix right away, just letting someone know you're working on it can turn the situation around."
He takes pride in developing his team, celebrating every win - from certifications to customer praise. And one project that stands out is the launch of Harbor's Self-Service Portal, something customers had been asking for a long time.
"It wasn't easy, but it's one of the most satisfying things we've done as a team."
Even with a hectic daily rhythm - from escalations to reports - the culture stays strong. "We're a global team with different backgrounds, but we make it work with regular check-ins and open conversations."
"The positive impact we have on other people. That's what makes me proud."
And if he weren't doing this? "I'd be a footballer. Playing for Arsenal, no question."

High standards only work when people have the right support around them.
At Harbor, managers are close to the work and close to their teams. They set direction, remove blockers, give people room to take ownership and step in when support is needed. You won't be micromanaged, but you also won't be left to figure everything out on your own.
Our leaders are accessible, our teams are collaborative, and people are encouraged to ask questions, share ideas and learn quickly. Whether you're developing in your current role, stepping into something new or working through a challenge, you'll have people around you who want you to succeed.
Flexibility built on trust
Flexibility at Harbor is built on trust. We care about outcomes, accountability and doing great work, not presenteeism. That means Harborites have the space to work in a way that helps them perform at their best, while staying connected to their teams, customers and the pace of the business.
